Client Objectives

A long-term partnership was established to support the Miami Children’s Museum’s evolving master plan through strategic planning, phased expansions, and ongoing renovations while maintaining full operations and uninterrupted visitor engagement.

Results

Cresa has served as a trusted partner to the Miami Children’s Museum for over a decade, supporting multiple phases of planning, expansion, and renovation. By implementing a highly coordinated, phased approach, the team successfully delivered complex capital projects while the Museum remained fully operational—ensuring continuity of programming and an uninterrupted visitor experience.

We have overseen approximately $20 million in renovations, including the renewal of 14 galleries and critical infrastructure upgrades that support the long-term sustainability of the facility. The team also played a key role in advancing a new entry pavilion, improving arrival sequence, accessibility, and overall visitor flow while thoughtfully extending the architectural language of the original building.

Cresa’s involvement has spanned all aspects of the Master Plan—from construction oversight and phased renovations to managing a diverse team of designers, consultants, and subject-matter experts delivering immersive, educational environments. The team also supported stakeholder engagement, including coordination with donors and exhibit partners, board presentations, and grant facilitation.
Beyond the core campus, Cresa contributed to the expansion of the Museum’s affiliated Charter School and supported the implementation of traveling exhibits in collaboration with major partners. Through comprehensive project leadership and sustained collaboration, Cresa has helped position the Miami Children’s Museum for continued growth, enhanced infrastructure, and expanded community impact.
