Client Objectives
The Philadelphia Zoo engaged our team for two major projects requiring complex coordination and accurate cost estimating: Big Cat Falls and the McNeil Avian Center renovation.
Big Cat Falls involved highly specialized planning, including coordination of plants sourced from 30 nurseries worldwide, relocation of mature 20-foot trees, and the transition of lions into a new natural habitat. For the McNeil Avian Center renovation, the Zoo sought reliable cost validation to support project planning and budgeting.
Results
Serving as an extension of the Zoo’s internal team, Cresa coordinated the design and construction teams, the City of Philadelphia, RACP funding representatives, and Parks and Recreation throughout both projects.
For Big Cat Falls, Cresa managed the complex logistics associated with specialty landscaping and habitat development. For the McNeil Avian Center renovation, Cresa’s cost estimating validated project costs within 5% of actual construction expenditures, providing the Zoo with confidence in project budgeting and delivery.
