Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse engaged Cresa to provide project management services for a comprehensive renovation of its facilities. Initially, the Cresa team developed a detailed Master Plan for the renovation, dividing the project into two phases.
Phase I included the construction of a new ADA-accessible playground and the restoration of the historic Victorian Giant Wooden Slide. The project also required significant site, civil, and drainage improvements, as well as coordination with the Fairmount Park Commission. Phase II focused on the development of the new Swing Set Pod play area and additional site enhancements.
Results
Following completion of Phase II, Cresa continued to support the organization by managing the design team, board, and staff in updating the facility’s Master Plan.The updated plan included a comprehensive site evaluation, schematic layouts for a new tot lot and future playhouse uses, and a cost estimate for the full project. Through phased implementation and long-term planning, Cresa provided Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse with a roadmap to guide future improvements and continued investment in its historic campus.
