Client Objectives

Villanova University engaged Cresa to support several major capital projects aimed at elevating the campus experience for students, fans, and visitors. Key objectives included:
  • Transforming the Finneran Pavilion, home of the national champion basketball team, led by coach Jay Wright
  • Delivering a new residence hall to increase on‑campus housing
  • Upgrading key academic and residential buildings to support long‑term growth.

Results

Cresa served as Villanova’s owner’s representative across multiple initiatives, managing each project from early planning through closeout. The $60 million Finneran Pavilion renovation delivered a fully reimagined, basketball‑centric venue with upgraded seating, lighting, state-of-the-art AV systems, premium hospitality areas, enhanced team spaces, and modernized building infrastructure.

Along Lancaster Avenue, Cresa supported the construction of a new dormitory housing 1,135 students and offering integrated retail, dining, fitness, and collaborative spaces—helping Villanova reach 85% on‑campus residency. Cresa also oversaw renovations to Austin Hall, Tolentine Hall, Stanford Hall, and Corr Hall, reinforcing the university’s commitment to high‑quality learning and living environments.

The John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts is Villanova’s new 78,000 SF Performing Arts Center on Lancaster Avenue. The facility features classrooms, dance and art studios, and two performance spaces: a 200-seat black box theatre and a 400-seat proscenium-style theatre. The building’s expansive lobby/atrium includes a catering kitchen as well as a café, perfect for audiences, students, and receptions.
