Client Objectives

Development of a first-of-its-kind, 37,000-square-foot children’s museum along the Christiana River in downtown Wilmington. The project aimed to deliver a dynamic, community-centered destination featuring interactive exhibits to inspire creativity, education, and hands-on learning. Coordination across public and private stakeholders, including the City of Wilmington, Pettinaro, and the Riverfront Development Corporation, was essential to successfully advance the project.

Results

Cresa led negotiations with key project partners and oversaw design and construction coordination. The team managed budgeting, board reporting, and the integration of exhibit designers and fabricators to deliver a cohesive visitor experience.

The completed museum features seven interactive exhibits, including an art and design studio, a sustainable “green” home, and signature installations such as The Power of Me, Bank on It, and ECOnnect. The project also established strong partnerships with local nonprofit and business communities. In recognition of his leadership and vision, Project Manager Ron Street was appointed to the Board and later named Board Chair.
