Cresa Selects New Principal in NYC

Barry Lewen has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, having previously represented big names such as New York University, Metropolitan Life Insurance and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Shortly after appointing a new vice president, Cresa has added Barry Lewen as its most recent principal in New York. He brings more than 30 years of tenant representation, commercial property leasing and strategic opportunity development experience to this role, having previously worked with General Electric Investments, New York University, Metropolitan Life Insurance, the Royal Bank of Scotland and CBS’ Outdoor division.

“Barry fosters long-term client relationships through trust and creative problem-solving strategies,” Cresa New York Managing Principal Peter Sabesan said in a prepared statement.

Prior to joining the firm, Lewen worked at Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors as executive managing director. Between 2005 and 2012, he served as senior managing director at Grubb & Ellis and before that as director of leasing at Monday Properties. He held various senior positions within JLL, Edward S. Gordon Co. and Helmsley Spear Inc. Additionally, the newly appointed executive has a B.S. in marketing from Pennsylvania State University.
