Barry Lewen Joins Cresa New York Office as Principal

Barry Lewen has joined Cresa, the world’s largest tenant-only commercial real estate firm, as a principal of the New York office. Well-regarded industry-wide, Mr. Lewen has specialized in tenant representation assignments, commercial property leasing and strategic opportunity development for over 30 years. Among the many preeminent clients with which Mr. Lewen has worked are General Electric Investments, New York University, Metropolitan Life Insurance, the Royal Bank of Scotland and CBS’ Outdoor Division. He has a proven track record of tangible revenue generation and has transacted business for multiple million-square-foot projects throughout his career.

Prior to joining Cresa, Mr. Lewen served as Executive Managing Director for Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors. He has held senior positions for a number of brokerage firms including Grubb & Ellis, Jones Lang LaSalle, Edward S. Gordon Company and Helmsley Spear, Inc. At Monday Properties and B.C. Lewen Realty, Mr. Lewen learned all aspects of asset management from an owner’s perspective including financing, assemblage, re-development, building management, building systems, and how a capital improvement affects leasing. He understands assets as a whole and can carefully consider each among other items in a portfolio. Mr. Lewen holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
