Mizuno USA Becomes Fully Operational in New Facility

The company recently completed a relocation of manufacturing and distribution operations to Braselton, Ga. to accommodate growth.

Atlanta GA, May 11, 2015 – Cresa Atlanta, North America’s leading tenant representation firm, represented Mizuno USA in a relocation of its manufacturing and distribution operations to approximately 520,000 square feet at 920 Hwy. 124, Braselton, Georgia 30157. Jim Bob Taylor and John Flack, Principals with Cresa Atlanta, advised Mizuno USA on the new lease and Dennis Compton, Vice President-Project Manager with Cresa Atlanta, coordinated the relocation. Mizuno’s manufacturing unit is fully operational as of April, while its business unit transition is expected to be completed by July.

Headquartered in Norcross, Ga., Mizuno USA, a global leader of sports apparel, footwear and equipment, announced a plan in 2014 to relocate all the distribution facilities and manufacturing operations from Norcross, Ga. to Braselton, Ga. The new facility combined two existing distribution facilities and a manufacturing plant. Mizuno’s Braselton operations employs approximately 150 people and doubles golf production for the company. In addition, the company renovated its existing headquarters in Norcross and added additional parking amenities.

"Our decision to partner with Cresa was guided by the expertise in commercial real estate, project management, strong partner relationships in elements such as design and architecture, and the flexibility to provide these services as a turnkey or stand-alone option,” said Josh Creasman, Vice President, Supply Chain with Mizuno USA. “Beyond the experience, the people at Cresa are truly professional and are considered trusted business partners with Mizuno."

Due to rapid growth and expanding product lines, Mizuno USA needed a larger, innovative facility to increase production and enhance supply chain. Taylor explained, “We analyzed all the available buildings in the desired submarket with 450,000-500,000 square feet or more to find the best cost alternative and the right square footage for Mizuno USA’s growing needs. Economics drove us to the location in Braselton, Ga.”

Taylor added, “This is a classic example of Cresa’s service-oriented approach to real estate. We utilized our experience in Atlanta’s industrial market and understanding of supply chain management to develop a strategy that provides value and improvements for Mizuno USA.”

Brian Sutton, Duke Realty, represented the landlord, Duke Realty Limited Partnership, in the lease negotiations.
