Rung for Women gives its clients a leg up in new headquarters

Rung for Women, a nonprofit that helps women and their children improve their economic situations by providing resources including money management, health and wellness, and jobs, has moved into a new $20 million headquarters.
Commercial real estate firm Cresa was hired to find a location accessible to clients in North and South St. Louis, with 100 to 150 parking spaces.
The location chosen, on 3.7 acres at 2727 Sidney St. in Fox Park, was a 1920s-era two-story warehouse. While some of the design elements are common in many headquarters, Rung for Women had a few special needs, such as land for planning and planting an orchard or vegetable garden, a demonstration kitchen and a medical clinic with child care. In addition to the existing warehouse, a one-story, 16,000-square-foot addition was included.
The community impact of the renovation, completed in October 2020, is a one-stop shop for women’s needs. Over the next five years, Rung expects to work with 1,800 women.
