Lawson Martin Confirmed for LAHSA Commission
Lawson Martin has been confirmed unanimously by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to serve on the 10-member Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Commission, the agency’s governing board. He replaces Commissioner Larry Adamson.
Martin, who was appointed by Supervisor Kathryn Barger, will take his seat at the June 23 meeting of the full commission. “In addition to his vast executive and management experience, Lawson brings to this vital commission a long record of leadership and service to the homeless population in our communities,” she said.
Martin has spent more than 35 years in executive management, most recently as CEO of Travers Realty Corporation. He is currently managing principal of Travers Cresa in Downtown Los Angeles.
During his career, Martin has been providing real estate consulting services to some of the nation’s leading corporations and professional firms throughout Southern California. He has also negotiated hundreds of real projects around the nation.
Martin is active at Shepherd Church, where he and his wife have led a home Bible study group for years. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Partners in Hope, helping support children of prisoners in Uganda.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority is a joint powers authority of the City and County of Los Angeles, created in 1993 to address the problems of homelessness in Los Angeles County. LAHSA is the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care, and coordinates and manages more than $132 million annually in federal, state, county and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing and services to homeless persons.
