Client Objectives

BAE Systems grew from a small U.S. subsidiary of a British company into a large U.S. entity with over $14 billion in sales and more than 54,000 employees and is the second largest defense contractor in the world. Owning and leasing approximately 23 million square feet, BAE Systems turned to Cresa for the implementation of a strategic facility plan, along with Transaction Management, Portfolio Strategies, Project Management, Lease Administration and Workforce and Location Planning services.

Results

Cresa has been BAE Systems' exclusive real estate provider for their facility requirements throughout the United States since 2000 and was recently selected for an additional five-year term in mid-2012. As of the end of 2012, 400 transactions (leases, purchases, sales, dispositions and early renewals) totaling more than 4.3 million square feet have been completed. We are completing the migration of their current lease administration system to a new, state-of-the-art ASP system. Cresa's Project Management team has been retained on more than two dozen projects nationally, including four LEED certified projects to date. Cresa has become, in many ways, BAE Systems' real estate department, not only providing transactional services but also assisting them with finding strategic, customized solutions that align BAE Systems' real estate plans with the company's short- and long-term business objectives.

BAE Systems, Inc. has successfully partnered with Cresa Washington DC during the past five years and has relied on them to provide proactive, value added real estate advisory services. Our relationship with Cresa has been extremely trustworthy and positive. We look forward to another successful 5 year partnership with Cresa Washington DC. - Tina Walker, BAE Systems Inc.
