Client Objectives

Since 1979, Greenpeace USA, an affiliate of Amsterdam-based Greenpeace International, has been campaigning to change the world, focusing on environmentalism, peace, and clean energy.

Greenpeace USA was in Chinatown for over a decade. The workspace was stretched across two floors, thus Greenpeace’s desire for needing more daily collaboration between its various teams. After assisting the organization with a return-to-work plan after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Greenpeace USA’s real estate advisor surveyed the East End and Central Business District for relocation options that could accommodate the group’s headquarters staff on a single floor. Greenpeace USA required building amenities to entice its employees back to the office. The group also needed conferencing space for staff to have meetings within the building, though outside the space they occupied. The budget for this project had to remain the same, or the entire project could not advance past a preliminary stage.
