Cresa Boston is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. This role will manage the daily accounting operations required to successfully manage Cresa’s operating budget and general ledger net assets. Reporting to the Vice President, Accounting, the Accounting Manager will manage and account for general accounting, reconciliations, and financial compliance. Ideal candidates are detail and process-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving and communications skills.


The responsibilities of the Accounting Manager role include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Vice President, Accounting, in the management, preparation, and administration of financial reporting
  • Responsible for all aspects of the month-end financial close including reviewing contracts and performing calculations to prepare journal entries
  • Oversight and management of data flows from all interfaces to ensure integrity
  • Assist in the preparation of month end reporting packages for senior leadership
  • Prepare written explanations for month-over-month fluctuation analysis within balance sheet & P&L reviews
  • Responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain internal controls over financial accounting and reporting processes
  • Assist in the identification of risks and implementation of new controls and processes when necessary
  • Support the preparation of the annual financial statements and tax returns
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting process
  • Make recommendations for process and workflow improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in other strategic finance, account, and business projects as they arise

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in Public Accounting and/or equivalent experience in the industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP as well as risks and controls
  • Advanced Excel skills required with demonstrated proficiency in, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry is desirable but not required
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external “customers”
  • Ability to effectively organize and present information, both verbally and written
  • Desire and ability to learn and leverage new technology and platforms as required
Hybrid - a minimum of 3-4 days working onsite in our Boston office with flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days.
