THE POSITION
The Business Development Director is responsible for supporting the company’s strategic plan through the planning and execution of marketing and business development programs and processes to develop a pipeline of profitable new clients. The focus of the effort is to build a prospect database of start-up, mid-sized, and large clients with emphasis on life science / biotech and science-based companies. The Business Development Director is accountable to Bay Area Managing Principals, who will monitor the progress of the program, provide tactical direction and assist in the identification of prospects.


Responsibilities Include:

A. Assist in Strategic Acquisition of Clients
a. Identify, research and profile pursuit targets for new client acquisition –in the Bay Area and surrounding states
b. Establish a systematic approach to analyzing specific client and market information and for delivering data-rich, content-based intelligence, insights, implications, entry strategies and “win” themes to enable prospect penetration and expansion
c. Build relationships with targeted prospects
d. Build relationships with strategic referral sources
e. Assist in obtaining appointments and preparing Advisors for meaningful conversations with targeted individuals.
f. Be collaborative and results-oriented by striving for the best result for the prospect and the company and support the team victory
g. Financially analyze the profitability of prospective portfolio clients prior to pursuit
B. Continuously Market to the Targeted Database
a. Direct contact to prospects, provide introductory material on Cresa and maintain documentation in Salesforce
b. Create and implement a high-touch program for the identified targets
c. Gather, analyze and integrate knowledge from across multiple industries and companies to develop genuinely new approaches, structures or ways of connecting to prospective clients and expanding existing client relationships
C. Provide Client Support
a. After winning assignments, assist in the transition of relationships to Advisors
b. As needed, provide support for the Advisor in servicing the client
c. Research competitors and distribute internal updates
d. Provide market knowledge and counsel for Advisors


Requirements

Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics or another related field.
• Minimum of three years professional experience in business development with a strong preference
for biotechnology or healthcare
• Fundamental understanding of real estate and terminology
• Proficient in Salesforce
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

COMPENSATION
Base salary and bonus based on experience, production and performance metrics
